Badminton is a racquet sport using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across the net.
A badminton racquet is usually made of sturdy but lightweight materials such as carbon fiber or titanium about 100 grams. Its maximum measure is 68 cm in length. It has a head with mesh consists of ropes twisted vertically and horizontally. A racquet can stand 7 to 11 pounds of force. A badminton shuttlecock is made of goose feather, 16 of them, (some made of plastic) weighing between 4.7 to 5.5 grams. The badminton court measures 124 meters in length and 5.18 meters in width for singles and 6.10 in double.
The badminton rules are simple. In serving it must always be done diagonally. If you touch the net while playing you are fouled and the opponent wins the point. If your point is odd serve on the left side. If your point is even, serve on the right side. If you do it the wrong way the opponent will have the point.
Currently badminton is an already well-known Olympic modality, which is dominated by Asian countries such as China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea and the Philippines.
